I am thankful for High Point State Park. For me it is a special place where I can walk the trails in any season and enjoy nature at its best. In the spring the sound of a breeze rustling leaves and birds calling each other is fascinating. In autumn there is the blazing color of autumn leaves that excites me. Summer brings the campers and picnickers to High Point, which is always a joyful sight. Finally, in winter after the first snow, there is a certain stillness ... the sound of silence, a sense of peace. I put on my snowshoes and keep walking. Lucille Alexander Montague
