Byram Scout attains Eagle rank

ack Marron of Troop 276, Byram, was advanced to the rank of Eagle Scout at a Court of Honor held at Stanhope First Presbyterian Church recently.  He was honored with a presentation by Byram Mayor Skip Danielson and many letters of commendation, including those from President Bush, Con-gressman Rodney Freling-huysen and Gov. Jon S. Corzine.
Marron joined the troop in 2001.  Over the years he attended six one-week summer camps, where he earned 18 of his 26 merit badges.
His Eagle Scout project was to plan and construct a trailhead kiosk for the Mansfield Trail in Byram. It includes a covered bulletin board used for posting trail maps and other information for hikers.  The kiosk will be used as a model for future construction of kiosks on the township trail system. The project took 200 service hours to complete.
Marron is a graduate of Lenape Valley  Regional High School and is now   attending Sussex County Community College.  In becoming an Eagle, Marron joins his brothers Luke, a 2001 Eagle and now an Air Force officer; Russ, a 2003 Eagle and now an ROTC college student; and cousins Kyle Hatfield, a 2000 Eagle and Scott Carpenter, a 1984 Eagle.
