NEWTON -- Anthony and Eileen Del Bagno celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Aug. 29, with a reception hosted by their children at the Lafayette House. Family and friends attended.
Anthony Del Bagno, son of the late Frank and Louise Del Bagno, and Eileen Ackerson, daughter of Edythe Romaine and the late Ralph Ackerson, and
stepdaughter of the late Burton Romaine, were married on Aug. 29, 1959, by Rev. Rodney Boaz. The ceremony took place at the First Presbyterian Church of Newton. Charles Wiener, brother of the groom, served as best man. Betty Roth, sister of the bride, was the maid of honor.
The couple have six children: Cindy Bailey and her husband, Bill, of Newton; Anthony Del Bagno and his wife, Heather, of Stanhope; Anette Del Bagno, of Newton; Mary Stately and her husband, Joseph, of North Haledon, Angela Del Bagno, of North Fort Meyer, Fla.; and Diana Del Bagno, of Minersville, Pa. They have 10 grandchildren: Amy, Nicole and Dion Osborne, Caitlin Bailey, Jacque, Courtney and Lauren Leiva, Joseph and Michael Stately and Reiley Herrin. They also have five great-grandchildren: Isabelle Osborne, Dezarae, Anthony and Cheyanne Harding and Kianna Osborne.
A highlight of the anniversary celebration was the couple's special dance to their wedding song, "My Special Angel" by Bobby Helms.
