ALLENTOWN, Pa. -- Abby Lauren Moon and Brian Scott Jakl were married Aug. 8 at 3 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church. Pastor Rick Cryder, of Lafayette Federated Church, officiated the ceremony.
Stacey Overbeck, cousin of the bride, was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Krista and Kaitlin Jakl, sisters of groom, Jill Soffa and Rachel Zilcosky, cousins of the bride, and Tara Kingsley, Alicen Wiant and Eloise Fairley. Nadya Nemeth, the bride's cousin, was the flower girl.
Matthew Jakl served as his brother's best man. Groomsmen included Christopher Fedor, cousin of the bride, Mark Coykendale, Shawn Ztanze, Ryan Tormey, Adam Bruning, Louie Lavin, Bob Kuhfuss and Jim Miller. Brian Burlace Jr., cousin of the groom, was the ring bearer.
A reception was held at Allentown Brew Works.
The couple met in California while both were serving in the NCCC Americorps.
The bride is the daughter of Walter and Rebecca Moon, of Allentown. She is a 2003 graduate of Salisbury High School and a 2007 graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
The groom is the son of Colleen Burlace, of Lafayette, and Scott Jakl, of Bellville, Mich. He is a 2001 graduate of High Point Regional High School and a 2005 graduate of Bloomsburg University. He is serving in the U.S. Navy Reserves.
The couple honeymooned in Aruba and plan to reside in the Allentown area.
