Court updates for 11/3: Andover woman admits drug possession
 
An Andover Township woman has admitted she possessed 13 bags of heroin Oct. 5, 2007, during a traffic stop in Stanhope, the Sussex County Prosecutor’s Office said.

Joanne DeRiancho, 25, pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled dangerous substance, a third-degree crime. Sentencing is scheduled for Dec. 18.

Stanhope Officer Robert Popelka investigated the case.

DeRiancho was represented by attorney Shepard Kays, and the state was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Thomas Reed.

Newton man guilty of selling heroin
A Newton man has admitted he distributed a small amount of heroin Feb. 26 and March 9 in Newton to a cooperating witness, the Sussex County Prosecutor’s Office said.

Charles Waldron, 32, pleaded guilty to two counts distribution of a controlled dangerous substance, a third-degree crime. Sentencing is scheduled for Dec. 18.

The Sussex County Guns, Gangs and Narcotics Task Force investigated.

Waldron was represented by public defender Kevin McLaughlin, and the state was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Thomas Reed.
