| Religion briefs for 9/11: Branchville church hosts event for Presbyterian women |

BRANCHVILLE — The First Presbyterian Church of Branchville invites women attending any of the churches in the Newton Presbytery to join them from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, for its annual fall gathering. This year’s theme is “God Will Do Wonders.” Guests will learn ways to revitalize their group through a review of a workshop held at this year’s Churchwide Gathering in Louisville, Ky.; experience this year’s Horizon Bible Study, “Joshua;” learn about “Ginnie’s House,” a children’s advocacy center in Sussex County; and share their stories with other Presbyterian women.
If your group has a mission craft or project to share, bring it along.

Wantage church celebrates 20 years WANTAGE — The Church of the Good Shepherd, 200 state Route 23, will celebrate its 20th anniversary Sunday. The 10 a.m. service will be followed by a luncheon at 11:20 a.m.
Volunteers and donors to the church’s outreach ministries will be honored.
Fall Harvest Festival at Oak Ridge Presbyterian OAK RIDGE — The Oak Ridge Presbyterian Church will follow its 10:30 a.m. service Sunday with a Fall Harvest Festival and open house, from noon to 2 p.m. at the Parish House, located at 321 Oak Ridge Road.
The event will feature children’s activities, a DJ, free tote bags and a picnic lunch. Information on church activities and community outreach organizations also will be available. Guests also can take a tour of My School Christian Child Care. Sunday school registration will be held.
‘Messages from Spirit’ scheduled for Sunday SPARTA — Simone Key will present “Messages from Spirit: A Mediumship Gallery” at the Institute for Spiritual Development, 15 Sparta Ave., at 1 p.m. Sunday. Key will help guests connect with their loved ones in the spirit world.
On Friday, Sept. 18, at 7:30 p.m., Key will present an “Evening of Medical Mediumship.” Volunteers will be selected from the audience to receive spiritual healing.
Key is a minister of The Spiritualist National Union and teacher at Arthur Findlay College, England. A limited number of private readings are available.

Blairstown church hosts Rally Day Sunday BLAIRSTOWN — The First Presbyterian Church of Blairstown will hold Rally Day Sunday. The event marks the beginning of the new Sunday school and event year.
A worship service, led by Pastor David Harvey, will begin at 10 a.m., followed by lunch in Fellowship Hall. The day provides an opportunity for interested people to learn more about the church and the Sunday school and to meet the pastor, teachers and members of the congregation.

Branchville church hosting flea market BRANCHVILLE — Our Lady Queen of Peace Church will host a flea market to benefit the parish Saturday on the church grounds, 209 state Route 206 South. There will be a bake sale and other food on site.
