Seniors may revolt against Obama Care Editor: New Jersey’s seniors are going to hold their nose and elect Chris Christie governor. Gov. Corzine reminds me of an ostrich; he worships the ground his head is buried in.
Obama Care has us senior citizens scared to death. Obama Care violates the 11th commandment: “Thou shalt not cut Medicare benefits.” I could write a novel detailing the faults of health care reform, but all of those evils combined do not compare with the Medicare fallout.
It is so simple a caveman understands: We seniors are not going to play Russian roulette and gamble our lives with the political promise that a $500 billion cut from Medicare benefits will not ration Medicare.
The seniors’ fear of Obama Care is building up a senior citizens tsunami wave that will have us showing up at the polls to vote with walkers, in wheelchairs and by ambulance. I do not believe there is anything that could cause us to revolt more than taking away Medicare benefits.
Conclusion by Winston Churchill: “Dictators ride to and fro upon tigers which they dare not dismount; and the tigers are getting hungry.”
We will remember in November.

The facts display move toward socialism Editor: After much thought, I decided to reply to Mr. Selby’s letter. First of all, I don’t like to be called ignorant. My letter was factual, not like yours, Mr. Selby.
The editorial page of the New Jersey Herald on Oct. 14 stated the last Bush budget was $490 billion, not the $1 trillion, $500 billion you said. Just recently the Obama White House released a statement that the projected budget for 2010 would be $1 trillion, $500 billion dollars. That’s what I stated in my letter. Further, I never said the Democrats were members of the socialist party. I said the socialist Democrats were offering their own socialist agenda.
The government owns 80 percent of GM, and a fair amount of Chrysler. They now own a lot of the banking industry. The government is pushing socialized health care. That hasn’t worked anywhere in the world.
Pelosi and Reid are pushing the Fairness Doctrine Bill to try to take over the radio. They want to silence Limbaugh, Levin, Hannity, O’Reilly and Beck. If that’s not socialism, I don’t know what you call it.
One last note: The Nobel Peace Prize given to Mr. Obama stretches the imagination. He had been in office for six days when the panel decided to give it to Mr. Obama for humanitarian efforts. He hadn’t done anything at that point.
I wonder how much the government contributed to that?
So Mr. Selby, keep writing your “factual letters.” At least they’re good for a laugh.

Corzine and Obama own our messes Editor: Can you believe some in this state are thinking of voting for Jon Corzine again? Have you forgotten the central campaign promise he made and did not keep? This elitist tycoon is now presiding over a state with the highest national real-estate taxes, exceedingly high unemployment, runaway bear problems, and a growing cadre of angry New Jerseyans determined to flee this state with their money and business if we are cursed with his re-election!
Our hopey-changey community organizer in chief campaigned for him here recently. How’s that hopey-changey thing workin’ for ya with double-digit unemployment? Obama owns this mess as have the congressional Democrats since 2006 who caused it. They could have fixed it by cutting spending and taxes but greed for power, money, and blind socialist ideology caused them to do exactly the opposite.
Thank God for Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Ann Coulter, and Mark Levin. They have rightly and effectively punctured the facade of Obamanism and factually showed him to be the dangerous, Chicago machine, con man that he is.
Sorry to say I told you so. You see, when the smile wears off, what we have essentially is a well educated Marxist street thug for a president. His handling of the auto (read unions) bailout is a textbook case of fascism in action.
Taking a page from Hugo Chavez, Obama recently even tried to exclude the national Fox News agency in press meetings because they have the audacity to criticize him. To their credit the other news organization refused to meet with Obama’s henchmen without Fox News. Perhaps they see the writing on the wall and do not want the power Obama has grabbed used against them someday soon.
America is going to get a ferocious spanking as the bill for the idiocy that got Obama elected is coming due now. It needs the pain we will endure to cleanse the country of the immoral and corrupt policies of this administration and Congress.
We will rise from those ashes well aware of whom and what caused our downfall and the real Americans will have their country, good and pure, back where it should always have stayed.
Let me hasten to add... we will owe President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney an engraved apology for our nation’s blindness to their wisdom, patriotism and selfless love for our country.

Logic on geese should apply to bears Editor: We have a very dangerous animal living among us. It is capable of injuring and killing humans and we have all read about recent close calls. We have had to change our outdoor activities in fear of them.
Yes, I’m talking about Canada geese. They are capable of inflicting injury or death when they fly into airplane engines, as we’ve all seen. They fill our lakes and ponds with their feces so we can’t swim for fear of E. coli. And who hasn’t stepped around their droppings on golf courses, school yards, beaches and parking lots?
There are three fair chase hunting seasons (where the prey have more chance to get away than a hunter has of harvesting them). The limit in New Jersey in the early season is 15 geese a day! You can harvest three a day during the federal season and five a day during the winter season.
Geese are also murdered. Surely you read the article in the Herald several months ago where the geese were being netted and murdered during the molting season, and they are continually harassed by dogs, lines over ponds, and have their eggs destroyed.
Yet there are no letters protesting anything we do to these poor geese. Not one! Is that because geese are not big and furry and cuddly? Or because there is no goose group to take up the case of protecting Canada geese? I prefer to think that people are logical and have the common sense to realize that we have to control their numbers and that hunting is still the best and cheapest method to do that.
And if that’s the case, why isn’t the same logic applied to bears?
