SPARTA -- Julian Farinola was a terror on both sides of the ball, rushing for three touchdowns and picking off two passes in Sparta's 38-13 win over Morris Hills in NJAC National Division action Saturday.
With the win, Pat Shea notched his 100th career victory and the Spartans (7-1) clinched a home game in the first round of the North 1, Group 3 playoffs.
Farinola amassed 95 yards on the ground and scored on touchdowns of 21, 22 and 7 yards. Sparta, which held an 18-13 lead at halftime, racked up 439 yards of total offense.
Senior quarterback Doug D'Angelo tallied 136 yards through the air, completing 10 of 19 passes, including touchdowns to Zach Passerelle and Steve Viegas.

WANTAGE -- Joe Beltran made good on his shot at redemption, booting the game-winner in the late seconds of High Point's win over Parsippany Hills.
After the Wildcats drove 46 yards to the Vikings' 17-yard line, Parsippany Hills called a timeout to ice Beltran, but the senior knocked down a 32-yarder after missing one just before halftime.
Trailing 14-7, Jim Delaney's squad got a 2-yard touchdown from Austin Caldwell to tie the game.
On the Wildcats' next possession they were stopped on fourth-and-seven, but forced a three-and-out behind three straight sacks from Matt Heyman, Bo Scannovino and Billy Smith to set the stage for Beltran.

SPARTA -- Junior Kevin Cook ran for 113 of Wallkill Valley's 349 yards in the Rangers' rout of Sussex Tech on Saturday.
With the victory, the Rangers improved to 3-5 on the season.
Cook finished with touchdown runs of 38 and 15 yards while Mike Buvis ran seven times for 83 yards and two touchdowns.
Bobby Russell had 10 tackles for the Rangers.

NEWTON -- Senior tailback James Nance did a full game's worth of damage in a half, rushing for 119 yards on 17 carries and three touchdowns as Newton picked up its second win of the season against Parsippany on Saturday.
In the same time frame, senior receiver Brian Winfield caught three balls for 84 yards and two touchdowns.
The Braves held an opponent to single-digit scoring for the first time this season behind linebackers Nance and Luke Liddy, who stopped the Red Hawks' running game cold.
Junior defensive back Kyle Deitrich returned an interception 57 yards to set up Nance's second score of the game.

MONTVILLE -- Gavin McCarney passed for a touchdown and ran for another as Jefferson cruised to a victory over Montville on Friday night in a NJAC Freedom Division tilt.
The Falcons (3-5) snapped a three-game losing streak during which it was outscored, 81-18. McCarney, who entered the game having thrown more interceptions than touchdowns, showed he is serious about finishing his senior season on a positive note. McCarney followed a Frank Strumolo touchdown with a 33-yard touchdown pass to Tom Macaluso to put the Falcons ahead, 13-0, in the first quarter.
After Jordan Gajdos cut the lead to six with a touchdown catch in the fourth, McCarney put the Mustangs (3-5) away with a 52-yard touchdown scamper.

MANVILLE -- Bill Cullen booted a 30-yard field goal in overtime as North Warren (2-5) snapped a five-game losing streak.
Brendan Nurnberger, who had three touchdowns, single-handedly brought Manville back from deficits of 10-0 in the first half and 20-12 in the fourth quarter. After a 5-yard touchdown run to bring Manville within two, Nurnberger ran in the two-point conversion to force overtime.
Cullen kicked a 30-yarder earlier in the game and calmly converted an identical kick to win the game.
Nick Davalos, Kevin VanLaar and Kyle Driscoll scored touchdowns for the Patriots.
